Attorney at Law
Sean Rotstan performed his undergraduate studies in philosophy at the University of California, Santa Barbara and studied law at the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law.
During his time in law school, Sean worked at Namanny, Byrne & Owens, APC helping professional athletes obtain remuneration for workplace injuries incurred during their professional sports careers and obtained judgments against numerous NFL, NHL, MLB, and NBA teams and their insurance carriers. During this time, Sean was also involved in two mass litigations against the NHL and NFL for serial campaigns by each organization against all of their respective athletes for concussion-related injuries and severe over-medication of their players.
Near the end of his studies at Chapman, Sean also briefly worked at the Chapman University Alona Cortese Elder Law Clinic, where he assisted the elderly and less fortunate with obtaining assistance for their disabled children and grandchildren and with other elder abuse matters.
Upon becoming a licensed attorney in the State of California, Sean started working for Sweeney APC in Torrance, CA, doing Breach of Warranty defense. For a year and a half, Sean defended Porsche and Nissan against hundreds of lawsuits involving alleged breach of warranty claims, attended high dollar value mediations, and worked both aggressively and cordially (depending on the facts of the case) with opposing counsel to reach mutually agreeable settlements that allowed all parties to walk away from litigation satisfied that their voices had been heard and needs had been met.
Sean participates in all areas of litigation at Jeff Lewis Law but focuses his practice on First Amendment and SLAPP issues.
