Brach v. Newsom: Amicus Brief Filed

In Brach v. Newsom, a group of parents, led by Palos Verdes Unified School District Board member Matthew Brach, have filed a lawsuit against California’s governor.
The purpose of the lawsuit is to invalidate the governor’s orders setting a minimum threshold for California’s schools to consider in person attendance in classes.
This week my firm filed an amicus brief on behalf of a group of teachers that support the measured approach taken by California. A restraining order hearing will be held on Monday, August 17th, on whether to enjoin enforcement of Governor Newsom’s order.
